How bad is housefull 3?
Ans. Not bad at all!

I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect anything from this movie because:

A) I didn’t like the trailer, it was plain bad for me
B) I didn’t like the songs, again, it was plain bad for me
C) The TV spots and dialogue trailers were dull!

I went into the movie theatre expecting a literal headache but it turned out be fun, well, to some extent it did.

This movie has no story, which was expected as the prequels too didn’t have one.
This time Sajid-Farhad took up the hat of direction and have stayed true to the Housefull franchise with the gags, one liners, humours, unnecessary songs, London etc.
Screenplay, though, stretched and dragged in many portions.

Akshay Kumar as Sandy/Sundy is the one who drives this senseless entertainer. His comic timing is great and the way he has managed his split personality is commendable

I was disappointed with Riteish Deshmukh because according to me, he is one of the best actors when it comes to comic timing. Yes, he is good but I felt that he was less interested in doing this role and also fell flat in a couple of scenes.

Abhishek Bachchan is the weak link in the male actors. His presence on screen is quite dull and sometimes is messy with the humour.

Boman Irani as Batuk Patel has done a wonderful job.

Jackie Shroff as Urja Nagre has a stylish role and carries a swag around him, that is, unless he opens his mouth because the punchlines he has is quite lame.

I wont even bother to mention the leading ladies as they have not acted at all! (Natural Acting,eh?)

Songs in this movie were unnecessary. They just pop up randomly and halt movie’s progress.

Some gags and punchlines are unfunny, specially of the leading actresses *direct translation of dialogues from English to Hindi*.
Some punchlines are repeated and some situations are forced into the screenplay again dragging the duration of the movie.

The first half of the movie was surprisingly entertaining and funny. There were several laugh out loud moments and the audience were actually engaged. The second half of the movie is where it lost its entertaining quotient. The humour was repetitive, songs slowed the movie’s pace down, the climax was predictable and it became boring to some extent!

This is senseless movie with wafer thin plot and some laugh out loud moments with a good first half and a dragging second half.

Go in for this movie without any expectations as I did and you might actually be surprised!

p.s. This movie is definitely better than Housefull 2.

I rate this movie a “B”
